C.D. Singles Club #5 – Medeski, Martin & Wood – Undone

It’s happened again – I have made music appear using my brain.  A couple of months back, I pined for a Mike Watt show in Cleveland and, magically, a date appeared at the Grog Shop.  This weekend, I wrote about the majesty and brilliance of Medeski, Martin & Wood and, again magically, a new track from their upcoming release popped into my electronic mail box today.  The song in question is from the trio’s upcoming third installment of Radiolarians, which will be melting brains on August 4th.  In other MMW news, they’ll have a limited edition box set of all three Radiolarians pieces with a mass of bonus materials in stores before the holidays.  (I’m assuming the cold-weather gift-giving holidays and not, say, Arbor Day.)  The new track, “Undone” buzzes with all of the spontaneous fury and syncopated madness we’ve come to expect from our favorite psych-jazz trio.  (Things get really interesting around the four minute mark, so be on your toes.)  It certainly doesn’t disappoint.  To whet your appetite for that box set, we’ve got a track from Radiolarians II as well.  Turn these ones up loud; freak out your neighbor and your cat.
