If you’ll scroll down one post, you’ll see my review of Fanfarlo’s haymaker, Reservoir, which is being marketed tremendously overseas and is extremely worthy of your time and attention. Rarely do all three of us get on board in unison on an album’s worth, but this one has us buzzing. The folks in the band made 500 exclusive hand-boxed sets of the release and Rough Trade records went through them immediately when they put them on the shelves a short while ago. Luckily, we’ve got our hands on one of these box sets (see pictures below), and will be giving it away to a lucky reader.
Truth be told, we’re jealous we can’t have the set ourselves because the album is on constant repeat for us over here. The limited edition includes embossed postcards with foil-blocked lettering, including the band’s lyrics. The linen covered box is special, not only because of how limited the edition is (only 500 copies made), but also because of the TLC put into its creation. This set is awesome! I’ve loved Fanfarlo since the Talking Backwards single a few years ago, but haven’t been able to get my hands on anything tangible. The set would simultaneously fulfill my need for a hard copy of the new album, and my desire to own such a beautifully-curated edition.

Since your review of the album I’ve been looping whatever tracks from this album that I can find, mainly on the band’s website. Lacking a credit card to actually purchase a copy from them, this set would completely make my day, as the beautiful care put into it can only be matched by the brilliance of this music!

I would treasure it like a fine wine. On just the right occasion I will overly appreciate the TLC put into this box set (due to a bottle of wine) and unleash the glory inside. That day may never come, but knowing it might is more than I can hope for. Until then there’s plenty of Fanfarlo for me to listen to online.

You got to be freaking kidding me!!!!! I discover this contest AFTER it’s over, worst day ever. Who ever won this thing had better LOVE Fanfarlo at least half as much as I do or I’m going to punch some old lady! Keep up the good work.

I think the lucky winner was a big fan, so you can sleep at ease a little bit. Leave those old ladies alone.
