I'm not a vegetarian, for the record. I do, however, agree with Brian being within his rights to nudge back a little. Ciarian Brandywell doesn't appreciate our work here, but happens to continue reading the blog. Either he reads as many album reviews as I eat steaks, or he seems to continue visiting our little blog. If the milk is spoiled, there's no reason to keep smelling it. Unless, of course, you sort of enjoy the aroma secretly.

Wars are averted with some good, healthy pissing contests, too.

Belated Comment-I've been passively following your blog for a several months now-for the record I AM a vegetarian although am not sure which is the chicken and which is the egg; I think Brian's second attempt at linking his pacifism to his vegetarianism fairly accurately represents mine (thanks Brian) and for that matter, many other GENUINE vegetarians.
Without wanting to do a suck job, (no offense Brian), I also feel that although I'm a little uneasy with his apparent willingness to possibly incite others to inflammatory behaviour (and please note Brian, I say possibly), I have to stand by Brian and his right to defend himself, without compromising either his pacifism or his vegetarianism (actually I guess the latter was never an issue at least I hope not in this particular matter Brian).
Anyway, glad that's off my chest. Thanks for the blog boys, it's a winner! PEACE ;D Jetx from Perth West Australia

Ah. Sorry. Point of clarification. I probably should have said pacifistic utilitarianism is at the root of my vegetarianism; you know: less suffering is a good thing. In that sense, I think that vegetarianism and the reduction of bad vibes are inherently linked. You're totally right though. The original verbiage was a little sloppy.

On the second issue, when filtered through the utilitarian point of view, things make sense. Ciarian Brandywell took a poke, so I felt withing my rights to poke back.

"I am a vegetarian and, obviously, a pacifist."

i didn't realise they automatically went together

"Keep reading and, in the meantime, as usual, fuck yourself. Also, if anybody wants to pay me to teach them how to retort to the sweaty masses, drop me an e-mail.)"

you don't seem much like a pacifist to me ...
