An incomplete list of things I should be doing:

  1. changing a diaper (little dude is smelling a little ripe)
  2. honing my response to the second question in my comprehensive exams (What factors internal and external to evidence-based practices lead to their increased use in field based settings?  Yeah!)
  3. reading midterms from my Characteristics class
  4. writing IEPs for my high school students
  5. vacuuming
  6. shaving (I’m getting that slightly creepy beard, the one you see on the dude who keeps his collection of fingernail clippings in a pay locker at the Greyhound bus station)

Things I’m actually doing:

  1. precariously balancing the little dude in my lap while I surf the interwebs and/or blog, hoping the whole time that he doesn’t suddenly snap into alertness
  2. listening to the new Zookeepers album at their bandcamp site.  (Think slightly over the top synthesizers paired with painfully self-aware but still jocular lyrics delivered in an “Ice of Boston” half-sung half spoken, occasionally snarling, all cool tone.  Yes!)
  3. trying to wrap my brain around a schedule of avoidance wherein I don’t do any of the things I’m supposed to do tonight but work for twelve or thirteen consecutive hours on Tuesday
  4. listening to Mrs. Citizen vacuum
  5. idly scratching my beard, dislodging tiny flakes of beard dandruff
  6. thinking about grabbing a beer from the fridge
  7. getting exceptionally stoked for Megafaun’s April 7th gig at Cleveland’s own Beachland Tavern
