Evan Moran's Ten and Six is a self-produced act from right here in Cleveland. He fired over the Ten and Six self-titled EP two days ago and It's providing plenty of intrigue this morning. The EP was released in May of 2009, but the band is currently still supporting it as they work toward new material. The 5 track EP can be downloaded at the band's bandcamp site by clicking HERE. Ten and Six is a mixture of art rock and folk with a healthy dose of indie sensibility, as well. There's a gentle wind blowing through "Bedside Regiments" and all five tracks, including "Mercury Lullaby," a two minute sleep inducing canvas of chilled out sound. There's a lean toward ambience here, but I'll hang my hat on the ease with which Moran pulls off the arrangments. The songs are catchy and entirely relaxing. Softly developing harmonies, pianos, sharp lyricism, aural synthesizers pinning everything down. Two spins through this EP and I'm already hunting for new material. Here's to hoping that's coming soon. Enjoy my two favorite tracks from the EP, "Bedside Regiments," and "Antique Heart." I've also got the video Moran released for the former of the two.
