Amanda Palmer's "Goes Down Under" is a mix of live tracks and new releases from her recently wrapped-up tour of that southern hemisphere debtor colony and surrounding isles. Some friends introduced me to her through her punk cabaret act Dresden Dolls, but primarily through her ukulele cover of Radiohead's Creep:

My puppy love for Amanda's version of Creep (an album I bought on the same day I saw "Sling Blade") was so intense my wife bought me a ukulele for my birthday. My rendition is not nearly as polished as Amanda's, but I strum on (here's a tab for anybody else who wants to give it a shot). But I digress. One of the new songs on "Goes Down" is "In My Mind," a little ukulele ditty about the difference between our idealized self and the actual state of affairs. It's nice, and rather understated track, especially considering that the most prominent song on the album is "Map of Tasmania" which addresses the state of affairs of her down there. But I digress. "In My Mind" is my next ukulele song to learn–I'll let you know how it goes (here's a tab).

And finally in ukulele news, according to Woodshed of Ukelele Hunt Eddie Vedder's ukulele album will drop on May 30. First single here. I'm curious what the rest of the album sounds.
