It's hot where we live. If you're in the northern hemisphere, it's probably hot where you live. If you live in New Zealand, it's probably cool and breezy, but there are Hobbits where you live, so we still kind of win. Heat like we're getting in Cleveland makes me want to listen to two very specific kinds of music:
1.) Understated guitar music with lots of fuzz (real or imagined) and (preferably) a lady singer. The best single example of this kind of hot weather music is probably that one Mazzy Star song that everybody still likes. Pageants also do the trick here. The singer manages to sound like early Jim James (circa recording in a grain silo), but way sultrier. The song also makes me think that I'm hearing something other than voice and guitar, but that's all there is. Sneaky, sneaky.
2.) Remixes. Longtime readers know how much we love posting remixes when the sun is shining and your seasonal beer is sweating like a dock worker. Enjoy.

you should check out Abbe May’s new album if you like fuzzed guitar and female vox. great australian artist.
