The addiction set in quickly for me two years ago.  I believe I caught Cloud Control's incredibly infectious track, "Gold Canary" over at I Guess I'm Floating, and from that point, I developed a serious problem.  I have played "Gold Canary" approximately 2384 times over the last two years, and have never grown tired of it.  It has it all, indie arrogance, hooks, guitar, angular changes, and solid production value.  Somewhere along the line, I lost touch with updates on the band; nonetheless, this song goes into just about every playlist I create.  Jogging?  Gold Canary, Gold Canary.  On my porch grilling hot dogs?  Gold Canary, Gold Canary.  So, here we are with the song once again coming back into the picture.  The band just released the video for "Gold Canary" on AOL spinner and will finally see the American release of Bliss Release, which has been trolling all over Australia, Europe, and the blogosphere in general for quite awhile (released May 23). They won the Australian Music Prize and have signed with Infectious Music.  I'm absolutely not timely with this post, but if the band is new to you, it's hard not to dig this stuff.  I just received the album in the internet mail yesterday, and with one spin, I fear I'll have some future Cloud Control addictions to deal with.  For now, enjoy the video and MP3 for Gold Canary, along with "Meditation #2 (Why Oh Why)," a new cut from the album.
